In honor of this Labor Day, Rep. George Miller, chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee and long-time friend of farmworkers' rights, posted this scathing assessment of the harm Secretary Chao and this Administration's Department of Labor have brought to workers. Among the many examples of damage this Department of Labor has caused are the proposed changes to the H-2A program, which would enhance the ability of employers to import temporary agricultural workers under substandard job terms and with minimal government oversight.

We expect the final changes to the H-2A program to be published imminently. Please visit the H-2A News page on our Farmworker Justice website for more details.
