Farmworkers at the March for America

portrait_of_a_worker-smFarmworker groups were present at the March for America this past Sunday to demand comprehensive immigration reform, reminding the Obama Administration of another campaign promise that is overdue.  Farmworkers with the UFW traveled from as far away as California to join an estimated 500,000 people who gathered on the National Mall in the largest demonstration for immigration reform in years.  Members of Congress spoke as well as representatives from such groups as the National Council of La Raza and the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.  President Obama addressed the crowd via video message.  The energy of the crowd was high; there was a sense of urgency and expectation.  There were also lots of U.S. flags.  Check out some of the coverage of the event at the links below.
