Farmworker Justice is hosting its 7th Annual Socially Responsible Wine Tasting on Wednesday, December 3, 6 pm to 8 pm, to promote companies that treat farmworkers decently in the vineyards, as evidenced by having a union contract.  The wine tasting will include a new wine label, Black Eagle, a special bottling.  The Black Eagle is the emblem of the United Farm Workers.

Please sponsor the wine tasting.  Your sponsorship will support Farmworker Justice in everything it does for the nation's farmworkers and their organizations.  Sponsorships are available from $2,500 down to $250.  Or buy an individual ticket for yourself and friends and family at $80.  Visit our website to get more information and to pay online using a credit card.

The wine tasting is in a great setting, the Samuel Gompers hall of the AFL-CIO's headquarters, which is at 16th St., and I St., N.W. in Washington, D.C.  Thanks.

One Auction Ending and Another Will Begin: All for a Good Cause

The auction on eBay of the amazing seats at the Redskins v. Giants game (Nov. 30) ended Sunday night at 9pm ET.  Farmworker Justice raised $480 from the auction of the two tickets and parking pass.  We thank our donor and the bidders, especially the successful bidder, who is getting a great deal and giving to a great cause.  Click here for the auction site.

In a few days we'll be launching an auction of a donated collector's item:  a signed, first edition, hardcover book by the late Tony Hillerman, "The Great Taos Bank Robbery and Other Indian Affairs."  Hillerman is known for his mysteries that illuminate Navajo culture and are acclaimed by both the general public and critics.  What a great holiday gift for that book collector.

Of course, remember the upcoming Socially Responsible Wine Tasting, on December 3.  Become a sponsor and support Farmworker Justice.  If you're in town and can't sponsor, then buy an individual ticket for you and friends at $80 a piece.  It's become a D.C. tradition.  The Washington Post mentioned it in the special food section for the Thanksgiving holiday.
